King Von Murder

King Von was a rapper with serious star power. His charismatic performances and engaging storytelling skills made him one of the most promising young talent in hip-hop.

Chicago-born G Herbo and Lil Bibby provided his influences, yet he developed his own distinct stylistic aesthetics through dynamic flows, cadences and narrative storytelling to take drill music to new heights.

Born Dayvon Daquan Bennett

King von autopsy was an up-and-coming Chicago rapper with great promise. His murder is a tragic loss for all those connected to him; he had recently started recording new material for fans and appeared to be poised for a significant breakthrough as an artist.

Rapper Dayvon Daquan Bennett was born August 9, 1994, in Chicago, Illinois. He was mostly raised by his mother due to the absence of his father (who was imprisoned and passed away when Dayvon was 11), although there are several half-siblings from both sides of his family tree.

Von first released his debut mix tape “Memoirs From The Hood” in 2018, featuring collaborations from rappers NLE Choppa and YNW Melly. Later in 2020 he dropped “Levon James”, also signing to Lil Durk’s Only The Family label to release it and becoming one of Von’s major rap releases to date. This project proved immensely popular and cemented Von’s place as an influential voice within rap scene.


King Von (real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett), one of music’s rising stars. Signed to Lil Durk’s Only the Family record label and known for his visceral storytelling, Von was on his way to superstardom. Additionally, this Chicago rapper was an incredible father and friend as well as being the eldest of three siblings.

The late MC was arrested multiple times for various crimes, and was accused of being involved in an alleged fatal shooting which claimed two lives in 2014. Furthermore, he was a member of the Black Disciples street gang.

Witnesses spoke to Chicago Scene 88 and reported that King Von had offered a $100,000 bounty on FBG Duck’s life, celebrating its murder by buying all in O’Block new chains for themselves and celebrating it by having fights with G Herbo, Lil Durk and 6ix9ine among other rappers – his death occurred November 6th 2020 during a shootout in Atlanta.

Released Singles

Posthumous releases for late rappers XXXTentacion and King Von are offering fans another way to remember them even after they have passed. XXXTentacion’s estate recently released “I’m Not Human” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, while King Von’s estate will soon release “Robberies.”

King Von, originally hailing from Chicago’s O Block neighborhood, first gained exposure in the drill scene after Lil Durk noticed his fluid storytelling. Durk then signed him to his Only the Family label. Following this success, his 2018 single “Crazy Story” went viral and helped gain greater exposure – leading him to release his debut album Welcome to O’Block.

This project debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and includes guest appearances by Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, Fivio Foreign and Polo G. Additionally it hit Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as a top 10 hit – becoming King Von’s first top 10 hit and highest placement on that tally; other hits like “Took Her to O” and “The Code” have charted as well.

Signed With Lil Durk

After rising through Chicago’s drill scene, King Von was discovered by more-established rapper Lil Durk. Durk took King Von under his wing, signing him to his Only the Family label and helping develop his sound – working together on viral 2018 single “Crazy Story”, Grandson Vol 1 release mixtape and Von’s first official studio album Welcome to O’ Block release later that same year.

Durk often refers to Von as his “baby bro”, noting how they share similar tastes in music and lifestyle, further cementing their bond.

Durk was among the many artists to pay their respects to King Von after his murder on November 6, 2020. Durk, known for his song “Backdoor,” temporarily deactivated his Instagram account in response to Von’s death before returning later with an O-Block chain wearing tribute clip called #DOIt4Von.
