Nle Choppa, originally from Memphis, has quickly established himself as one of the rising stars in hip-hop. Known for his energetic performances and unique style, this Memphis native also maintains strong ties to his home city.

NLE Choppa’s real name is Bryson Potts and has gone by various stage names throughout his life, such as YNR (Young No Love). Later he dropped this moniker and changed to Choppa; today, he is part of Memphis’s rap scene having collaborated with artists such as BlocBoy JB; they even recently posted a video featuring both of them!

Memphis rapper Lil’ Wayne has been using his success to give back to children in his hometown, most notably by unveiling a brand-new basketball court built with Nancy Lieberman Charities.

The court is part of a larger initiative designed to give kids the opportunity to shoot hoops while exploring their city’s history. NLE Choppa performed at the Memphis Grizzlies home opener last Wednesday and plans on coming back regularly with other musicians from Memphis. There have been reports that he may also be dating someone, though he has yet to confirm anything regarding his personal life.

He’s a songwriter

Bryson Potts, the fast-rising Memphis teen rapper who gained notoriety through his viral hit song “Shotta Flow”, rose quickly. Beginning freestyling with friends at age 14, he took up music seriously at 15. Cottonwood is his debut EP featuring collaborations with notable Memphis artists Blueface and BlocBoy JB.

Choppa’s first single from this project, a remix of Lambo4oe’s “Self Esteem,” showcases his ability to mix hip-hop with R&B seamlessly. The song boasts lush production that perfectly compliments Lambo4oe’s soulful vocals while simultaneously showing restraint that distinguishes this track from Choppa’s other releases.

After his song, “Shotta Flow”, went viral, major record labels began offering multimillion-dollar contracts from Interscope, Republic and Caroline; however he decided instead to sign with UnitedMasters as his distribution deal and later released From Dark to Light as his second mixtape.

Bryson Lashun Potts, also known by his stage name NLE Choppa from Memphis is one of the most promising new artists on the hip hop scene today. His music videos have amassed millions of views on YouTube, and he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in business.

He shot to prominence with the viral success of his 2019 single “Shotta Flow.” This debut hit prompted record labels such as Caroline, Republic and EMPIRE Distribution to bid against each other for the multimillion-dollar offers they made; ultimately choosing UnitedMasters instead.
