SharePoint Training in London — A Practical Review of the Leading Providers

SharePoint is the defacto standard for corporate document management, collaboration and project coordination. SharePoint isn’t as intuitive as other Office applications and so often staff need training to use it well. Good training will change your teams use of SharePoint from siloed file shares to streamlined, role-based collaboration spaces.

Below is my review of the SharePoint training offers from five major London-based providers, along with a comparison of their strengths and weaknesses and a recommendation for what customers each provider is likely to be the best fit for.

At a glance — the five providers covered

  • Acuity Training — small, hands-on instructor-led classes in London and online; Microsoft Partner; uses a pre-course “Getting to know you” questionnaire; and includes post-course support.
  • STL Training — broad range of SharePoint courses from introductory through designer/advanced, delivered in London and across the UK.
  • Microsoft-Office-Courses — budget-conscious CPD-certified online SharePoint courses, quick and flexible.
  • The Knowledge Academy — multi-day masterclasses in London covering end-user to power-user SharePoint tracks.
  • QA — enterprise-grade, role-based SharePoint training (end-user, site owner, admin, architecture) with depth and scope.

What each provider actually offers (summary and notable points)

Acuity Training — personalised, small-group, full support

Acuity offers a tailored approach to their SharePoint training. They begin with a “Getting to know you” pre-course questionnaire to capture delegate backgrounds and key questions and deliver the training in small groups, and provide six months of post-course support. They are a long-term with a strong track record of offering outstnaidng customer service across the full Microsoft suite.

Highlights:Delegate profiling ahead of the session, small group sizes, six months’ post-course support, London and online delivery.

Best for: Teams that want tailored, hands-on sessions with ongoing support built in.

STL Training — wide choice, established provider

STL offers a big rangeof SharePoint training: from introductoionupto SharePoint designer and advanced administrator. They cover the whole of the UK from their London centre and have substantial experience of Microsoft application training.

Highlights: broad range of courses,  flexible London classroom dates.

Best for: Organisations that want many course options under one roof.

Microsoft-Office-Courses — cost-effective CPD / online option

Microsoft Office Courses offers online CPD-certified SharePoint courses. Their focus is on fast, cost-effective learning, making them appealing for individuals or teams seeking quick certification rather than deep customisation or intensive hands-on work.

Highlights: affordable, flexible delivery formats, recognised CPD certification.

Best for: Individuals or small teams needing quick, cost effective training

The Knowledge Academy — multi-day masterclasses and modular formats

Knowledge Academy offers a range of 1- to 4-day SharePoint masterclasses in London. These span from basic end-user training to advanced power-user tracks, all scheduled across multiple dates and locations.

Highlights: multi-day blocks for deeper training, scheduled public dates in London, modular agenda.

Best for: Teams able to invest 1–4 days in training and looking for structured, immersive learning.

QA Ltd — enterprise-grade, role-specific training

QA runs a very comprehensive suite of role-based SharePoint courses, from one-day end-user fundamentals to multi-day site-owner, admin and architecture tracks. Their training includes dealingwith corporate IT teams, governance, permissions, external sharing and other advanced SharePoint topics.

Highlights: role-specific agendas, depth of content, fit for IT and governance teams.

Best for: Site owners, IT professionals or governance teams needing advanced SharePoint training aligned with organisational roles.

Quick practical comparison — what you should ask before booking

The above is my view. When looking at a course I would recommend asking the following questions as a minimum.

  • Which version of SharePoint does the course use? (e.g., SharePoint Online vs older on-premises).
  • Do delegates get hands-on practice in a live tenant/site rather than purely watching demonstrations?
  • What pre-course information gathering there to ensure that the training is right for the group’s experience level and goals? For example, Acuity uses a “Getting to know you” form.
  • Does the course offer post-course support for delegates when they are back at work and applying what they’ve learned in their organisation?
  • For private courses can the agenda be customised to your organisation’s SharePoint environment? (metadata templates, governance model, custom site structure).
  • What is the maximum class size and what level of trainer access is possible? Smaller groups allow for more questions and interaction.
  • How much does it cost?  Cheaper isn’t always better but price is always a factor.

Recommendation — the top pick for most London-based teams

For most situations London businesses will get the most value from their SharePoint training using Acuity Training. I like their combination of delegate profiling (via questionnaire), small-group classes and inclusive six-month post-training support which extends the training into the real-world.  Also,it’s encouraging to see that this quality is provided across other applications, for example see this article on selecting Power BI training providers in London

If your team needs deep technical training or you have very specific infrastructure (custom templates, governance, site architecture) then providers like QA or STL might be more suitable. If budget or certification speed is your priority, Microsoft-Office-Courses offer a solid alternative.
